Operation HOPE 2022 Annual Report

At Operation HOPE, we have always believed that everyone plays a role in building a more inclusive and equitable economic future. Over thirty years ago, I stood in the streets of South-Central Los Angeles and watched the city I called home set ablaze with anger, hurt and confusion. I realized then what I hold deeply in my heart today – people are suffering due to a lack of opportunity and in need of help, and more importantly, for hope.

Reflecting on the past year, it is as important as ever to confront these challenges and continue the work of creating a better future. In 2022, we were proud to come together with you and Operation HOPE’s partners to meet the urgency of this moment.

It is with great pleasure that I share with you our 2022 Annual Report, which highlights our accomplishments for the year, some of which include:

• Opened our 200th HOPE Inside location, putting us on track to 1,000 locations by 2030.
• Crossed the $1 billion threshold in mortgages funded to-date through HOPE’s partnership with Fulton Bank.
• Engaged 130,248 Black-owned businesses through our 1 Million Black Business initiative.
• Increased credit scores by 42 points on average for HOPE clients.
• Reduced revolving debt by $1,944 for HOPE Clients.
• Increased savings by $1,100 on average for HOPE Clients.

I truly believe we are standing in a moment in history. But history never feels historic when you’re in the midst of it – it just feels like another day. I believe that financial literacy is the civil rights issue of this generation, and call on you to join us in growing and scaling our work across America.
