This morning I appeared on CNBC’s SquawkBox to discuss the pulse and feelings of small business owners across America. It’s no secret that inflation is high, unemployment is at a less than desirable rate, and we are dealing with the fallout of pandemic-era slush that was used to keep the economy moving. Despite all of those factors, America’s small business community remains resilient and optimistic about the future.

During this period of economic uncertainty, Operation HOPE has been helping to raise credit scores, reduce debt, and create opportunity through entrepreneurship, especially in the Black community through HOPE’s 1 Million Black Businesses (1MBB) initiative. We are seeing in real time people using the foundations of our small business development program and pairing it with their hopes, desires, and dreams to get to a better financial place for the future.

It is my belief that promoting these types of measures and focusing on the expanded field of play in small business area will set us up for a brighter future and a roadmap for wealth creation for those historically left out in the years to come.
