John Hope Bryant with pro race instructor Jean Francois Brunot at Homestead Miami Speedway.

This week I was surprised for my birthday week by my wife with a day of intense (think happy face under the race helmet) automotive race training at Homestead Miami Speedway with ANSA Motorsports, in one of their KTM X Bow GT4, a purpose built race car from KTM. She knows, how to make this man smile.

To say that this was a brilliant time and experience, would be an understatement. The principal of ANSA Motorsports, Mr. Alain Nadal, took me out first on a on a ride along in a standard KTM X Bow, and I literally thought the car (and driver) was defying the laws of physics, and gravity, in that car. I just could not believe a car could do that.

And then I finally slid into the drivers cockpit seat of the more powerful GT4 car, and after some initial jitters, it all began to make sense. It all, clicked. The car was brilliant. And after a while, I realized that I wasn’t a half bad driver in the car either, clocking a 1:38 lap time, and a technical 1:37 lap time (this video will be published next week) respectively.

After an intense day of testing and training, not only did I emerge with a full face helmet smile, but also sold on this amazing, one of a kind, full carbon fiber, super lightweight, aerodynamic, purpose built GT4 class racecar. KTM really did a fantastic job here building a quality platform.

A special thank you to the entire crew that supported me this week on track, my family, and all the loved ones and friends who continue to root me on.

Live your best life, and live it to the fullest. It’s the only one we’ve got.

Onward and with HOPE,

John Hope Bryant
