Watch the following video and find hope:
Even by controlling the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the unprecedented impact to our economy has been felt by all Americans and continues to contribute to a feeling of despair.
Jobless claims have skyrocketed.
I was joined by a great group to discuss the effect of COVID-19 on Black America.
Included in the discussion was moderator Vladimir Duthiers, Anchor, CBS News as well as Mellody Hobson, President and Co-CEO of Ariel Investments and Heather McGhee, Chair of the Board for the Color of Change.
As I contributed during the discussion, what should you do if you are a small business barely hanging on during this pandemic in order to find hope?
“Take every dime that the federal government is making
available to you, right now. You don’t have to pay it back as long as you use
it for employees, rent, lights, and things that are tied to overhead…I guess
what I am really telling you is that we have been doing so much with so little for so long, we can almost do anything with nothing…we will get through this and rainbows only follow storms,” said John Hope Bryant, Entrepreneur.
Rest assured, we will survive this and we will thrive.
