To my friend Commissioner Roger Goodell, the entire NFL family, and our colleagues at Blackstone,
I am heartbroken by the tragic and senseless violence that took place at the NFL’s Midtown Manhattan office. Like so many, I am struggling to process the loss of life, including a brave NYPD officer who gave everything in the line of duty, and the injury of one of your own NFL team members. My heart is with all of you.
Roger, you’ve been a steady leader through moments of great challenge, but I know this one cuts deep. The NFL is not just a league, it’s a family, a cultural force, and a reflection of who we are and who we can be. I’ve had the honor of walking alongside you and the NFL team through many important efforts to uplift our communities, and I want you to know that I stand with you now, in sorrow, in solidarity, and in strength.
To our partners at Blackstone and all those across the 345 Park Avenue community, please know that you are in my thoughts as well. A tragedy of this magnitude reverberates far beyond those directly impacted—it touches everyone connected to the mission, the work, and most importantly, the people.
You have my deepest condolences, and my unwavering friendship.
