John Hope Bryant defends capitalism and free speech from CNBC.

Today was a good day for free enterprise and free speech. And for everyone who aspires to go from the bottom to the top.

Today underscored how America, with all of her intense problems and challenges, is still remarkably different than most parts of the world — where you don’t succeed based on your aspirations and ability. Where you don’t speak your mind, and hear your own authentic voice. And we didn’t pull punches or take short cuts either.

Watch the CNBC SquawkBox show for this morning, where we debating capitalism and free enterprise (vs. socialism and other systems), the politics of mass aspirations, and we walked through the China, NBA recent crisis.

A special thank you co-hosts Andrew Ross Sorkin, Becky Quick and Joe Kernen. Honored to be a regular guest co-host with them on the show.

Here is a link to a longer editorial piece also on the show that’s worth a read. I endorse its views.
