This week I was honored and pleased to spend some quality time at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where I recorded a Public Service Announcement (PSA) with FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate, for the recently updated and re-released EFFAK (Emergency Financial First Aid Kit). The EFFAK was co-created and co-produced by FEMA and HOPE Coalition America (HCA), a division of Operation HOPE and a national partner with FEMA.
HOPE Coalition America (HCA), a national partner with FEMA for emergency financial disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has served more than 750,000 citizens since its founding following 9/11. Operation HOPE had offices at 1 Liberty in 2001, which was one of the buildings destroyed with the Twin Towers attack in New York City.
HCA has served more than 300,000 survivors of Hurricane Katrina, and most recently, more than 30,000 survivors of Hurricane Sandy. The Mortgage HOPE Crisis Hotline, part of HCA, has also successfully modified more than $800 million in subprime and other mortgages.
More than 500,000 copies of the EFFAK has been downloaded from FEMA alone.
HCA is also a national partner with the American Red Cross.
