"I keep saying that this is a middle class recession, and politically that is what I mean — meaning because it has impacted a broad cross section of the middle class here and around the world the crisis and those impacted will get political attention they and it otherwise would not. That said, those at the bottom are probably the ones feeling the brunt of employee layoffs, etc. As I have always said, 'when mainstream America gets a headache, black and brown folks get pneumonia.' But least we forget, we are all sick.We are all in this thing together."
