Andre Lima, my friend and taekwondo master teacher, has come a long way for a Brazilian boy who was born on a farm in Ceara, Brazil. Today he is living his dream…along with his beautiful wife Christianny Lima (and tough — she is also a black belt in Taekwondo and other forms of martial arts! Not messing with her, under ANY circumstances – smile!) and daughter.
At the age of seven, his parents moved to Brazil’s capital, Brasilia. It was there that Andre Lima was first exposed to martial arts. By the age of 21, participation in taekwondo competitions had already taken him through a vast part of South America. He had earned titles in Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile. He had traveled to Japan and, of course, to the country where taekwondo was born, Korea, to train with the masters.
After a global journey of training and teaching spanning nearly 20 years, today Lima and and his wife run the Lima Martial Arts School in Culver City, California, where I am a proud student (Orange belt). Andre specializes in teaching taekwondo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and aerobic martial arts.
In short, today Andre Lima is one of the top rated taekwondo 5th or 6th degree black belt (I cannot keep up with him….) experts in the world — and it LOVES showing me all of his techniques (first hand, of course. Smile)!
Bravo Andre. Proud of you friend…
Onward, with HOPE
