Last month, something extraordinary happened on the HOPE Global Forums stage in Atlanta. For the first time in history, the leaders of four of America’s most iconic sports organizations—MLB, NFL, NBA, and NASCAR—stood together to discuss not just the future of their sports but their commitment to something even bigger: financial empowerment for all.

This was more than a panel discussion. It was a statement of unity in a time when division feels all too common. It was a reminder that while sports are competitive on the field, they are collaborative in their potential to drive societal change.

That potential is why we launched Financial Literacy for All (FL4A) in 2021. Through this coalition of more than 50 leading businesses, nonprofits, and cultural institutions, we aim to embed financial literacy into the fabric of our schools, workplaces, and communities. And now, with Major League Baseball joining FL4A, we’ve taken another historic step forward.

MLB joins the NFL, NBA, and NASCAR in this 10-year movement to equip millions of people—employees, players, and global audiences—with the tools and resources they need to make informed financial decisions. This is a testament to the power of sports as a unifying force and its ability to inspire action far beyond the field, court, or racetrack.

When I first shared the idea of bringing the commissioners together, I wasn’t sure how it would land. In a world where agreements are hard to come by, I thought the vision might feel too bold. But I made the calls, and not only did they say yes—they leaned in. They recognized the urgency of this moment and the opportunity to reach millions with a message of financial empowerment.

What we saw on that stage wasn’t just a historic gathering. It was a powerful display of how sports can be a platform for hope, unity, and transformation. It’s one thing to watch a game and cheer for your favorite team. It’s another to realize the profound influence these organizations have on culture, education, and opportunity.

For those who couldn’t be in the room, I’m sharing a video of this unforgettable discussion. It’s more than a conversation—it’s a blueprint for how we can use the platforms we have to create meaningful change.

Sports bring us together in ways few things can. But this initiative is about more than sports—it’s about legacy. It’s about building a foundation for future generations to thrive. And it’s about the unwavering belief that everyone, regardless of where they start, deserves the tools to take control of their financial future.

Watch the conversation, share it, and let it inspire you to be part of this movement. Financial literacy isn’t just a priority for FL4A—it’s a necessity for all of us.

Together, we’re making history. And together, we’ll continue to build a future where no one is left behind.
