Financial literacy isn’t a “Black thing” or a “White thing.” It’s not just for the wealthy, and it’s not a crutch only for those struggling. Financial literacy is for everybody. And, crucially, it’s for young people, too.

Every day, I connect with people from all walks of life—CEOs, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, pastors, the grocery store clerk, and the mail carrier. There’s a common thread among them, regardless of background, race, or social status: they all wish they had learned financial literacy sooner. That single skill set, learned early, can transform a life. It gives young people the chance to build wealth, avoid financial pitfalls, and truly realize the promise of the American Dream.

That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the kickoff of HOPE For Young Adults! This virtual event is designed to empower the next generation with the tools to make smart financial choices and build a brighter future. We’re launching with a virtual event on Tuesday, October 29, at 6 pm ET, where we’ll hold an essential panel discussion, “An Open Conversation about Money.” This is a chance to hear real stories from people who’ve been there—their wins, their lessons learned, and the stumbles they overcame on the way to financial success.

Please, spread the word. Invite your sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, grandkids, godchildren—any young person who’s ready to take control of their financial journey. We all want to leave them with a world that’s a little better, and it starts with giving them the knowledge they need today for a brighter tomorrow. Let’s make sure they don’t miss out on this chance.
