Recently there’s been a shakeup in the music industry with artists Kelis and Beyonce. On the surface the appears to be about credit and respect. But underneath the veneer, you’ll see that it’s really a discussion of business and intellectual property. Emotions from one party blinded them to a very big reality that many people in show business fail to see. It’s that show business is, in fact, a business — and businesses are made of dollars and cents and things that make financial sense.
