On our 30th anniversary, Operation HOPE has lots to celebrate and to appreciate. But there is also a lot of unfinished work left to do, and we are about all of it.
With approximately 190 HOPE Inside locations operating to date, in approximately 40 states, we are presently the largest nonprofit financial literacy coaching and counseling and financial inclusion organization in the country.
We have HOPE Inside locations operating inside of bank branches, places of worship, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and places of work, and we have been changes and transforming lives for more than 30 years now.
Operation HOPE has 4 million clients, and has directed approximately $4 billion in capital in support of underserved communities and clients alike. Raising credit score more than 50 points within six months, increasing savings and decreasing personal debt, is part of the amazing and super relevant work that our Operation HOPE and HOPE Inside teams do every day.
72% of Operation HOPE’s customers see increases in their FICO credit scores through participation in their coaching program.
Here is a link to the AJC article which talks about how the new Wells Fargo Banking Inclusion Initiative, and the partnership with Operation HOPE, will impact greater Atlanta.
Here is a link to the original partnership release which outlines the larger goal of the partnership — to reach over 20 Wells Fargo markets with HOPE Inside locations over time.
This partnership will be one of scale, and our goal is nothing short of helping the bank to increasingly say ‘yes’ to minority and underserved applicants — when they apply for loans for homeownership, small and business ownership and basic access to prime mainstream credit. And the bank is fortunate to have one Darlene Goins running their Banking Inclusion Initiative.
We are also proud to have Wells Fargo as a member of the Financial Literacy for All Initiative (FL4A). This is the Silver Rights Movement.
