I had the pleasure to speak with Stephanie Ruhle of MSNBC last week. With so many protests, we need to talk and have an open conversation about the unequal playing field of justice in the US. COVID-19 has shined a light on the racial wealth gap.

I’ve seen a lot of sadness after George Floyd’s death. This reminds me of the Rodney King riots, after which Operation HOPE was formed to help and make a difference in communities.

“We can’t handle another one of these. This is it. This is our last chance to get it right in America and we can get it right, we are just not doing the right thing,” I told Stephanie Ruhle.

We have a high rate of unemployment right now in the US, especially with minorities. There was a temporary lift with stimulus packages, but we still have structural challenges to work through.

It’s not just minorities, there are poor whites too. We need solutions. We need more GDP and more jobs.

Ignorance and racism is part banished by education. There needs to be education, K through college, and financial literacy for all. We need a true living wage for all.

You take those that are “invisible” and you make them productive participants in the American dream.

We did this after World War II. Why are we not doing this now?
