My team at Operation HOPE is actively monitoring the ongoing partial government shutdown that is affecting nearly 800,000 federal employees.

Now in its 18th day, we understand that it has forced many of those unpaid workers to find other ways to pay their bills, either by getting new jobs or by working to lower costs with debtors.

Operation HOPE is standing by to help. We have 120 HOPE Inside locations in 26 states. If you, or anyone you know, has been affected by this shutdown, HOPE can help in these ways:

  • Assistance developing an emergency budget
  • Assistance speaking with mortgage servicers on delaying or reducing mortgage payment
  • Assistance speaking with creditors or delaying or reducing monthly payment
  • Completion of an EFFAK (Emergency Financial First Aid Kit) that will help heads of households locate key documents and records and keep them available for reference
