Operation HOPE Founder John Hope Bryant Travels To Ferguson, Missouri with The King Center CEO Reverend Dr. Bernice King on Peace, Dignity Solutions

 -- On September 17th, How The Poor Can Save Capitalism bestselling author and Operation HOPE Chairman and CEO John Hope Bryant travelled with The King Center CEO Reverend Dr. Bernice King to participate in a "Framing The Issues On Ferguson, Missouri" session with Ferguson and Clayton County Missouri elected officials, community organizations, leaders, citizens.

Partners in peace and dignity, Operation HOPE and The King Center focused attention on respect, self reliance and economic solutions for the people of Ferguson.

The small delegation met with every a wide array of the community, including youth.  Operation HOPE learned from the community how best to incorporate economic empowerment initiatives, like Project 5117, in Ferguson, Clayton County, and other Missouri neighborhoods. 

Operation HOPE's Project 5117 is a national alliance Co - Chair by Global Spokesperson Ambassador Andrew Young and Board Member Reverend Dr. Bernice King. Its mission is to strengthen the economy by focussing on empowering those who earn less than $50,000 a year. It is a measurable local impact, community by community plan of action designed to answer some of the questions posed by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Poor People's Campaign in both word and deed.  Project 5117 is supported by a broad range of services from homeownership counseling, credit card debt management, and comprehensive entrepreneurship training. The organization is exploring plans to introduce economic empowerment services into the community.
