91853If you ask John Hope Bryant, the American Dream is far from dead.

If given the right tools and inspiration, the poor can lift themselves into the middle class, he argues, and they can "save capitalism" as well.

"How the Poor Can Save Capitalism" is the newest book from the founder ofOperation HOPE, a nonprofit offering financial literacy education to under-served communities.

Bryant joins The Daily Circuit to talk about his latest work, and offered strategies he believes could give the poor a boost.

Bryant also checked in with MPR's Kerri Miller back in 2012.

It was just after the world's top economic leaders gathered in Davos, Switzerland, and the crisis they spoke about was youth unemployment.

Financial dignity is, in fact, an issue of civil rights, Bryant argued.
