Since 2001, Operation HOPE (through HOPE Coalition America) has provided preparedness and recovery assistance to over 300,000 individuals in the wake of 33 large disasters in the United States. In partnership with FEMA, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the American Red Cross, HOPE has delivered disaster financial recovery guidance assistance and long-term recovery services geared towards helping survivors develop financial stability and economic empowerment. HOPE Coalition America is the national partner with FEMA for emergency financial disaster preparedness, response and recovery work.

HOPE entered the emergency financial disaster case management arena immediately following the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon in 2001, establishing HOPE Coalition America (HCA) to provide recovery services to individuals in New York, Washington D.C. and California who suffered reduced income or lost their jobs in the post-9/11 economic slowdown.

HCA has honed its skills for rapidly responding to disasters across the United States, including hurricanes in Florida and the Gulf Coast, wildfires in California and Texas, floods in Georgia, tornadoes in Alabama and the Midwest, the BP oil spill and most recently Superstorm Sandy and the tornado in Moore Oklahoma.
