Mary Hagerty Ehrsam is the Chief Executive Officer of Operation HOPE-New York, and the Division President of the HOPE Youth Empowerment Group for Operation HOPE, Inc. (HOPE) where she has served for 14 years.
Prior to HOPE, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam began her career in community economic development and poverty alleviation with the Los Angeles affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. During her tenure with Habitat, Mrs. Hagerty grew the affiliate from a $35,000 annual budget to $3.2 million and constructed sixty-four homes in partnership with recipient homeowners and a global network of volunteers.  She was responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan, the volunteer program, and provided overall management of corporate programs, major donor relations, special events, and political and public relations.

Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam was one of four members of the 1995 Jimmy Carter Work Project leadership team responsible for planning and constructing twenty-one homes in six days with over twenty-five hundred volunteers. As part of her role, she secured over $4.5 million for the event.
 
Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam expanded her focus to comprehensive inner-city revitalization as Vice President, Chief of Operations for Operation HOPE, Inc. (HOPE). In her role as VP, COO, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam oversaw the development of the Operation HOPE Banking Centers  and was responsible for day-to-day operations, legal, fiscal management, compliance, community and political affairs, and financial development.
 
In 2001, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam was promoted to Senior Vice President, National Initiatives and began the expansion of HOPE’s financial literacy program, Banking on Our Future, to fifty-two U.S cities within four years. The program has since empowered over 460,000 youth worldwide with tools to take control of their financial future.  Working with the Global Dignity Co-Founders, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam developed the base “A Course in Dignity” curriculum which has since been delivered, in partnership with the Forum of Young Global Leaders, in fifty countries on four continents and was incorporated as an official part of Banking on Our Future curriculum.
 
In 2007, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam was appointed to execute HOPE’s global expansion to South Africa and secured a partnership with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, National and Provincial Government, Peace Corps South Africa, and the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. In her current role as First Senior Vice President, Global Chief of Financial Literacy, she is responsible for all global and domestic financial literacy empowerment initiatives, HOPE Global Advisors, HOPE South Africa, HOPE Global Initiatives, Global Dignity, HOPE Corps, FIVE MILLION KIDS Initiative, the Office of Innovation, Research and Assessment, and serves as the Deputy Chief Development Officer.
 
Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam received a degree in economics from Gettysburg College.  
 
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of ChildFinance in the Netherlands, the Advisory Committee for Clinton Global Initiatives, The Global Tolerance Advisory Board, is a current member of ODE National Economics Society, on the Advisory Board of the NYC OFE Financial Literacy Advisory Council, serves under the Chairman on the NYSE Euronext Financial Literacy Advisory Committee, and on the Financial Services Roundtable Financial Literacy Scholarship Review Committee.  
 
Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam is married to Artist and Designer Bradley J Ehrsam of Bradley Ehrsam Designs.
