Nov05_264 He is the man!

I took this picture as I was on my way to hang out with the great Ambassador Andrew Young recently in Atlanta, Georgia, and "just happen" to be driving down his boulevard. Not a street mind you, which would have been impressive enough…but a boulevard! You know that you are a bad brotha when you have a BOULEVARD, named after you (smile)!

Andrew Young is a civil rights icon that served side by side with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, an international statesman who has served as our United Nations Ambassador, a two term mayor of Atlanta, 2 term congressman for Georgia, co-chairman of the Olympic Games, chairman of Goodworks International, recipient of 75 honorary doctorates (okay, and I have like ONE I am happy – smile), and has recently had one of a long list of schools named in his honor; the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

Yes, Ambassador Andrew Young is one of my all time heroes, but he is a gentle giant, and one of the most humble, sincere, genuine…and nicest people you would ever want to meet.

P.S. If you ever see him in and airport, first off (1) say "thank you" to him for all that he gave and sacrificed for our collective freedom, and (2) ask him how he likes his new and very cool iPod (an inside joke)!

Onward, with HOPE
