Here Mr. Frank Bonetto, vice chairman and regional banking president for Bank of the West, and another volunteer HOPE Corps member, Gleena, from Union Bank of California (and my friend Gina Wolley, executive vice president for Bank of the West, who is hiding off to the right – smile), teach a Banking on Our Future class to 4th graders at Fruitvale Elementary School this morning. Frank got so jazzed he pulled out his own checkbook (from Bank of the West, of course) and made some real life examples of "financial literacy" decisions that he and his family makes on a regular basis — and they will soon have to do too!
A special thanks to Art Shingleton, senior vice president for Bank of the West, Mary Hagerty of Operation HOPE, our new local coordinator "Lisa," Joy Hoffman of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, our regional board chair, and all of our other partners and friends from the Bay Area for helping to make this incredible day possible.
You can see a complete portfolio of photos in the Banking on Our Future photo album and tomorrow you will be able to download and listen to Frank’s class via MP3, right here on my Blog!
Let me hear from you. Let me know what you think of our work…
Onward, with HOPE
