Operation HOPE and Atlanta Public Schools have partnered with Bryant Group Motorsports Academy (BGMA) to launch High-Velocity Education—a twelve-week career training program that includes science, technology, engineering, math, life skills, and financial literacy, while reinforcing strong character values like positive self-esteem, team collaboration, and ethical leadership.

The curriculum introduces youth from underserved communities to careers in automotive and motorsports. The program launches later today at Ralph J. Bunche Middle School in southwest Atlanta with two sixth-grade engineering classes of 60 students. To learn more, visit bgmaeducation.org

The Ford Performance Shelby GT350R Track Car attracted lots of attention — including school staff members who then wanted to bring their Ford Mustang’s out to show them off also.  A great day all around.

A final thank you to Ford Performance, who have donated two track cars to the BGMA program, the Ford Fund which has provided financial support for the program, Michelin USA and other companies who serve as partners to and for the BGMA program.

A very special thank you to David Pericak and Mr. Henry Ford III from Ford Performance. It was Henry Ford III who actually co-founded the BG Motorsports Academy with John Hope Bryant, and is very active in its activities throughout the year.  Sandy Baruah, President and CEO of the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, originally introduced John Hope Bryant to Henry Ford III, and today serves on the Advisory Board for the Academy.  Full circle.

BGMA is run by Tommy Ward. The original director for BGMA was Scott Bartlett, who continues to serve as an outside advisor to the Academy.
