JHB 2ATLANTA – Mar. 10, 2017 – John Hope Bryant, prominent entrepreneur and founder, CEO and chairman of Operation HOPE, will speak at the 2017 HBCU@SXSW on Saturday, March 11. HBCU@SXSW is part of the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals that will be held March 10-19, in Austin, Texas.

“I am excited to join this vibrant community of thought leaders and young people,” Bryant said. “This annual collaborative is an incubator of transformational ideas across industries to bring real impact to our communities and nation.”

In 2016, SXSW announced a new partnership with Opportunity Hub, MVMT50 and several Historically Black Colleges and Universities to bring high potential student technology entrepreneurs to the banner event. The effort was designed to support My Brother’s Keeper, an initiative of former President Barack Obama, which was launched to address persistent opportunity gaps facing boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.

Bryant will participate in the following sessions on March 11 at the Omni Hotel Austin:

Panel Discussion – Coding While Black – 9 a.m. CST

Panel Discussion – Financial Literacy in Tech – 2 p.m. CST
