A very special program tied to and kicking off the next Annual Meeting of the HOPE Global Forum, 2016, will be a conversation for and around the Aspirational Future of Black Men in America.

With all the discussion in the nation focused on the challenges and problems of Black men in America, we want to speak to the one thing that can and will change everything —  their aspirational future. Their incredible potential. The investment we can all make, for ‘a return’ we can all benefit from.

The discussion will feature  number of my good friends, including Ben Jealous, senior partner at Kapor Capital, the former president of the NAACP nationally, Van Jones, founder of Dream Corps and civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, whose both chairman and founder of the Andrew Young Foundation and global spokesman for Operation HOPE.

I will also be joining the conversation, which will be moderated by Lisa Borders, global chair for the Coca-Cola Foundation, and an Operation HOPE Global Board Member.

Also on the same evening, we will honor my dear friend and a mentor to us all, the Rev. C.T. Vivian, who was an aide to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the civil rights movement, and today, at 90 years young, is still actively engaged in all forms of social uplift and civil engagement for our people.

Rev. Vivian received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama, and is an active ‘force of nature’ in our community.

Rev. Vivian will receive the ‘Civil Rights to Silver Rights’ Award for his lifetime achievements from Operation HOPE on this day and date.

Finally, invited Delegtes will be treated with a special, private concert by Grammy Award Jazz Artist Gerald Albright, another friend to the movement. The silver rights movement, that is. For more information on the Annual Meeting, check out the full program here.

Okay, let’s go…
