The books are currently listed in the magazine's December issue. 

Placed in the 9th position under the category of commentary, Essence describes How the Poor Can Save Capitalism as "While most pundits focused on the 1 percent of the world's population, John Hope Bryantlooked in a different direction and changed the conversation about America's disturbing detachment from poverty."
