 – Operation HOPE (HOPE), the leading global financial dignity nonprofit, announced that Kasim Reed, Mayor of the City of Atlanta will serve as Honorary Co-chair for the 2015 HOPE Global Forum in Atlanta on January 15th-17th.  Mayor Reed served as an Honorary Co-chair for the Global Forum since A 2012.

The annual forum, hosted by HOPE at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta, will bring together Heads of State, C-suite executives, civic and financial leaders to outline a vision for the future of the modern global economy, with a focus on the poor, underserved and teetering middle class, as untapped assets for economic growth, entrepreneurship and job creation.

Mayor Kasim Reed is the 59th Mayor of the City of Atlanta and has been in office since January 4, 2010. During his time as Mayor, he has hired more than 200 police officers, improved fire-rescue response times, re-opened all of the city’s recreation centers, and improved the service delivery of city departments such as Sanitation and Public Works. During his first year in office, he increased the city’s reserves from $7.4 to $56 million dollars and initiated a series of reforms to address the city’s unfunded pension fund liability.
