Operation HOPE is excited to see the growth in the commitments for our Project 5117 initiative. To date, we have a total of 1,318 commitments made in support of  teaching financial dignity in underserved and unbanked communities.

A numerical acronym for program goals, Project 5117 stands for 5 million youth empowered through financial literacy; 1 million of these empowered youth will have an opportunity to become future entrepreneurs and local job creators through HOPE Business In A Box Academies; open 1,000 HOPE Inside offices located in bank branches to raise the average credit score in a community to 700.

Project 5117’s mission is to strengthen the economy by focusing on empowering those who earn less than $50,000 a year. Its concept was developed as part Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action. Operation HOPE is excited by the initiatives success but we still have not reached our goal of 1,600 commitments by Dec. 1. In two months, we need less than 300 additional commitments before we begin year two of Project 5117.
