Last Friday night I was deeply honored to spend time with my dear friend and fellow YGLVan Jones, founder of Rebuild the Dream and co-host for CNN's Crossfire at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco.  We came together around a discussion for my new bestselling book, "How The Poor Can Save Capitalism," and I must say that it was one of the most interesting and energizing discussions on the book yet.  From a substance perspective, it was absolutely the most compelling discussion event — and that credit goes to Van Jones.

The event was packed and all books sold out at the Commonwealth Club, and I ended up signing little stripes of paper!  The questions from the audience were amazing.

A special thank you to the Commonwealth Club, to Van Jones, to my book publisher Berrett-Koehler Publishing, who were there in force, my local HOPE team and everyone else involved in this special meeting.  And as well, a special thank you to my mother (Juanita Smith) and sister (Mara Hoskins) who showed up from out of town for this special evening.

A special thanks as well to Bank of the West, who served as a sponsor for the evening, along with Michael Bracco who represented the bank on the program, introducing Van and myself and the very special evening. I understand that both the radio (audio) version and the video will be available soon. Stand by!

This new book is now the only bestselling book on economics, written by an African-American author.

Blessings.  Let's go.
