Chicago is a unique and special American city.  One that I highlight specifically in my new bestselling book, How The Poor Can Save Capitalism: Rebuilding the Path to the Middle Class.

Chicago is the tale of so many different places. Our industrial past, our progressive future, an international tourism mecca, a disaster zone of pain for the current plight of you black and brown men and young people in general, and then on the heels of this — a group of minority Little League winners inspire the nation, with their hope.

I am coming back to a city with deep history with me.  Not only do I have family there, but it was Chicago where Oprah Winfrey presented me and the Operation HOPE movement with her Use Your Life Award so many years ago, which kicked off our work there. We will build on that now, and going forward, with the implimentation of Project 5117 throughout the city.  Particularly her underserved areas.

Stay tuned, and if you are in the city, come and join us this evening.  A very special thank you to the Hyatt Corporation, which is headquartered in Chicago and is hosting me this evening, along with their Chief Global Human Resource Officer Robb Webb, who serves on our HOPE Global Board of Directors.

Let's go…
