I was honored to speak at before senior management at FEMA this week at FEMA headquarters in Washington, D.C. on my new bestselling book, "How The Poor Can Save Capitalism: Rebuilding the Path to the Middle Class," framed around our longstanding HOPE Coalition America (HCA) alliance with FEMA.

Our national alliance with FEMA is focused on emergency disaster financial preparedness, response and recovery, and HCA has responded to more than 50 national, Presidentially declared disasters and countless local disasters, working alongside FEMA and other key partners such as the American Red Cross and others.

In addition to responding to a range of national disasters, HCA and FEMA have collaborated on a series of highly successful and impactful initiatives, including the creation of the EFFAK (Emergency Financial First Aid Kit) which has been distributed to millions of Americans.

A special thank you to FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate, FEMA Deputy Administrator Tim Manning, as well as Alexander Amparo, Gwen Camp and other key leaders within the Agency.  All, first class people — dedicated to service for America, to Americans.

Because of federal requirements and legal limitations, my book was not made available (as a gift nor for sale) during this particular conversation.

A special recognition of my senior team here, including Fred D. Smith, senior advisor, Oliver Bell, the new director of HOPE Coalition America, Jena Roscoe, chief of HOPE Government Relations & Public Policy, and Ryan Mack, market president for the Mid-Atlantic area.
