Thank you Mr. Bryant, you defined capitalism well and gave me a boost to push forward with efforts in uniting and encouraging us po-folks. I also appreciated the related thought that America is not a country, it is an idea. There is another phrase from another source, it helps define my understanding of the course we are on – when work is done in the spirit of service it is as worship. The poor will continue to work and worship together with or without government assistance and with or without corporate greed. There will always be poor but not the increasing destructive misery that we are experiencing today. God bless you. What a great and exciting mission.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical Ideas for Solving the Wealth Gap, June 25, 2014

This review is from: How the Poor Can Save Capitalism: Rebuilding the Path to the Middle Class (Hardcover)
In a time when our country is more divided than ever and decidin
g what they are against, John Hope Bryant puts forward a practical approach for addressing one of America's largest problems — the growing divide between rich and poor. Rather than pointing fingers and blaming, he engages all of us to work to increase financial literacy, support entrepreneurialism, and bank the unbanked. He argues that by helping people increase their credit scores, giving them strong role models, and teaching them about money, we can give them hope and a path to the American Dream. Read this book. You will think differently about our ability to solve some of the biggest domestic issues of our time.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRUTH!, June 23, 2014
This is a fascinating book – filled with a lot of gold nuggets! I was able to gain additional research for my work out of it. It's really cool to hear someone speak so passionately about financial education. It's such an important topic but so many people just don't get it. Helping people to help themselves is one of the best gifts you can give. John Hope Bryant outlines how we can all do our part. And it’s not hard it’s practical. It’s easy to talk about what went wrong and how things are so terrible for so many people but my hope is that from now on we let our actions speak louder than our words. Get moving America!
