Alabama State University is preparing to host a panel discussion Friday on women's empowerment issues.  The event will feature Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of civil rights icon, Martin Luther King, Jr., John Hope Bryant, who leads financial literacy empowerment organization Operation HOPE, and founder of Women Empowered to Achieve the Impossible, Margaret Dureke. 

The event is part of a weeklong celebration of the 58th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.  The forum will be held Friday morning from 9:30-11 a.m. at the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African American Culture on Carter Hill Road.  The discussion is free and open to the public.
