Banking on Our Future, DC has partnered with Washington Math, Science & Technology Public Charter High School (WMST) for the past 5 years to expose students to financial dignity concepts.  On October 30, 2013, a total of 40 volunteers from BB&T, Department of Treasury, Industrial Bank, Wells Fargo, Women in Housing & Finance Foundation and the DC Chapter of African American Real Estate Professionals joined forces to share personal finance classroom instruction with the high school students. The entire 328- student body was in engaged in this phenomenal day of empowerment.

During this special event, many students shared their college and career goals and how being financially literate would positively affect their respective futures.

Mr. John Hope Bryant (Operation HOPE’s Founder, CEO & Chairman) also visited WMST to greet and thank the participating volunteers for taking the time to share with youth.

Special thanks to school officials, Dr. N’Deye Diagne and Ms. Treva Lindsey for their continued support. Additionally, Operation HOPE would like to thank SharCon Management for providing parking to the volunteers at the Holiday Inn – New York Avenue, Washington DC location for the day.
