We are proud and pleased to announce that Mrs. Christine King-Farris, the sole surviving sister of the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has agreed to serve as an honorary co-chair of the Community and Character Forum components, occurring on November 14th, 2012, of the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit scheduled for November 14th and 15th, 2012, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Professor Christine King-Farris will also speak at the opening of the new HOPE Financial Dignity Center, Ebenezer and Martin Luther King, Sr. Community Resource Complex at the King Center on November 14th, 2012.

Activities on November 14th, 2012, include the HOPE Opportunity Bus Tour through underserved Atlanta, Georgia, the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the HOPE Financial Dignity Center, Ebenezer, and in the afternoon, the Global Dignity Forum.  The Global Dignity Forum includes the likes of Dr. Bernice King, CEO of the King Center, civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, Professor Pekka Himanen of Finland, civil rights legend Rev. CT Vivian, and via a special live Skype interview session between moral leaders and HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway from Oslo, Norway.

Mrs. Christine King-Farris is a trustee of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the King Center, and is a professor at Spelman College.  As the sole surviving sibling of Dr. King, Mrs. Christine King-Farris has personally experienced, and in most cases personally oversaw, the home-goings of her beloved brothers Dr. King and Rev. A.D. King, her mother Mrs. Alberta William King, who was tragically killed at Ebenezer Church, her dear friend Mrs. Coretta Scott King, her father Martin Luther King, Sr., lovingly known as Daddy King, and most recently her beloved niece (and my friend) Yolanda King.

Mrs. Christine King-Farris is the sister of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and dear friend of the late, great Mrs. Coretta Scott King, who founded the King Center.
