Working to support friend and fellow Member of the U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability Marc Morial, CEO of the National Urban League, I am glad to be in New Orleans this Friday to speak at his upcoming National Urban League Annual Conference.
In our joint role on the Council Subcommittee on the Underserved and Community Empowerment, and in my role as chairman of the Subcommittee, we also hope to meet with local mayors (of course led by New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu) while there, focused on trying to advance the engagement of cities, counties and municipalities with respect to standing up Local Financial Literacy and Local Financial Capability Councils. Several other Members of the President's Council will also be there to support Marc this week.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak this week as well. A big congrats to my friend Marc Morial for what I am sure will be a fantastic national conference.
