Kaplan University becomes a major sponsor of the new HOPE Center in Atlanta

 

DAVENPORT, Iowa & ATLANTA, Apr 30, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Kaplan University, a leader in higher education innovation, and Operation HOPE, a global leader for financial dignity, are partnering to provide financial literacy and economic education services to Kaplan students and community members.

The programs and services offered under the multi-year agreement encompass Kaplan University's dedication to helping students develop skills that will foster success in their personal and professional lives, and Operation HOPE's aim to improve the economic quality of life for individuals, families and communities.

Under the agreement, Kaplan University will be a major sponsor of Operation HOPE's new flagship center in Atlanta, the HOPE Center at Ebenezer. The center is scheduled to open this year and is housed within the Martin Luther King, Sr. Community Resource Complex at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Kaplan University and Operation HOPE will also host a series of free public webinars to provide best practices for managing personal and student-related finances.

Kaplan students will have access to an array of financial empowerment programs offered by Operation HOPE, including home buyer's, small business and entrepreneurship training; earned income tax credit counseling; and emergency preparedness and disaster recovery programs. Kaplan students also will have 24-hour access to Operation HOPE's mortgage and credit crisis hotline.
