Today I spent some time with my friend Mayor Kevin Johnson of Sacramento, just prior to my keynote speech before the California Black Chamber of Commerce, and I was quickly reminded why I am one of his fans and supporters. I believe it is fair to say that the mayor and I belong to a mutual admiration society (smile).
Sacramento is fortunate to have the benefit of this giant in vision in and for its city. He gets it. Just watch how he rolls out and outlines his plans in future weeks, months and years, and then come to your own conclusion. Mayor Johnson is no mere "former NBA great." This man was made for these times. If you don't know him yet, then research him now. You will regret it if you don't.
Onward and with HOPE,
