PhotoFollowing my White House meetings during the first part of the day, I had the distinct pleasure on yesterday of traveling over, accompanied by my government relations chief Ms. Jena Roscoe, and spending some quality time with the Gabonese Ambassador to the United States, the Honorable Michael Moussa-Adamo, in his official office in Washington, DC.  Gabon is a progressive African nation of approximately 2 million citizens on the African coast, and is rich in natural resources — not the least of which are her people.  My friend Ms. Oprah Winfrey has referred to Gabon as a prized jewel, and I look forward to visiting there soon.

The Ambassador, who is very close to the President, was very interested in the work of Operation HOPE, and specifically our focus on teaching a new generation of African youth "financial literacy, economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, leading to financial dignity and silver rights."  We will be working on a few ideas together in coming weeks and months.

A special thank you to my executive assistant, Ms. Leslie Alessandro, who originally met the Ambassador during the 2010 CBC sessions, and encouraged us both to connect and meet.

Onward and with HOPE
