I am honored to lend my name and our support to the inagural Carolyn Young Mentor Walk, happening on September 10th, 2011, here in Atlanta, Georgia, celebrating and encouraging two of my favorite topics — my friend Mrs. Carolyn Young, and providing mentors to young people.

Most everyone knows of my personal hero and mentor, civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, but most are unaware of the "wind beneath his wings," Mrs. Carolyn Young.  Carolyn is a play mother, and sister, to me, and my dear friend.  She is a career educator who has given her life to public service, and is more active today in community, than even when she was a celebrated teacher in Atlanta schools.

Nizan dinner at MohebEverytime I speak with Carolyn, she is "giving" to someone, somewhere, for something.  Always, it is something other than celebrating herself — and so it gives me great pride to encourage all to attend and support this Mentor Walk, in her name.

Mrs. Carolyn Young, is LOVE LEADERSHIP in action, in community and life.

Come walk with us as college students take the lead to inspire younger kids about their futures and encourage them to attend college. We are also celebrating and raising awareness for the need for more mentors!

About the Walk

The inaugural Carolyn Young Mentor Walk will be held at Agnes Scott College on September 10, 2011. It is a 1.5 mile walk around the campus of Agnes Scott. The Mentor walk is open to anybody from the community who wants to participate.

We will be hosting a fun healthy living expo during registration at 8:00AM.  The walk will begin promptly at 9:00AM. Please arrive by 7:45AM to check-in. After walk festivities will kick-off at 11:00AM.
