Operation HOPE is proud and pleased to announce a new $40,000 grant in support of Operation HOPE, Chicago, and Banking on Our Future, Chicago programming.  This grant comes fr
om the Alliant Credit Union and the newly announced Alliant Foundation.

The grant is significant not just because it supports Operation HOPEs newest obsession — local operations, local programming, local leadership and local work — but because it is a model for Time, Talent and Treasure for other leaders.

Alliant's chief executive officer David Mooney not only serves as chairman for our Operation HOPE Midwest Board of Directors, he also volunteers regularly as a HOPE Corps member in local Des Plains School District classrooms.

Like any good leader, David Mooney provides a clear role model for his team, and his team at Alliant has responded in mass.

A role model corporate leader for others

Alliant is a role model for other credit unions across the country, and corporate leadership in general.

As a direct result of their continuing commitment and our work together over the past three plus years, today 100% of all youth attending the Des Plaines School District, in Des Plaines, IL, receive a course or courses in financial literacy empowerment through Banking on Our Future (during middle school years).  100% of all students.

One can only imagine the impact on the culture and future promise of both the attending youth, as well as the community they live in. This is Love Leadership in action.

A special thank you to the Alliant board of directors, the Alliant Foundation, and the countless Alliant employees who serve as HOPE Corps volunteers in Operation HOPE and Banking on Our Future, Chicago classrooms.

Working together, we are changing the world, and you are helping us to create a new model for corporate leadership.

Because of Alliant's leadership, the HOPE Office of Innovation, Research & Assessment (OIRA) will have a perfect environment to gauge the impact of our work and changed behavior amongst our youth.  Likewise, the Des Plaines School District may also serve as a near-perfect partner of and for the coming Gallup-HOPE Index.

Together, we can change the world, by becoming the change we want to see in our world.
