Love Leadership: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World

Product Details

So over the course of the past 18 months I have done countless shows and events, and media, focused around my Inc.Magazine/CEO READ bestselling business book LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World (Jossey-Bass), but no one event or activity actually compares to this morning's "Steve Harvey" effect, after I appeared on his Steve Harvey Morning Show.  After appearing on his show (which I really enjoyed, I might add), the book rocketed back into the top 500 ranking for ALL books on Amazon.com, #74 for the Kindle, #8 for Leadership, and #25 for Business Management.  Yes, it is a good book, but it is also reflective of the power of the Steve Harvey "brand" to move something he believes in.

My personal hero, civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, told me that the printing press changed everything.  The Bible, once printed, created controversy throughout what we know to be Europe, and spawned a 100 year war between Protestants and Catholics, and the radio and television gave rise to several movements, including the civil rights movement itself.  It could be argued that without television, there really would not have been a civil rights movement as we know it today.  And here comes Egypt, a movement for freedom and democracy, inspired by Facebook and the Internet.  And so, I say I want a silver rights movement — one where we finally make free enterprise and capitalism "work" for the poor – well, such a movement probably is not possible without engaging young people, and the new age of digital media platforms.  Enter Steve Harvey, with his radio, Internet, social networking and cable television new media platforms. The man is on to something.

I was honored to return to his program, and to count myself as a new friend of a man who desires to "do well and do good too."  I had not made it out of the studio good before Steve Harvey had invited me to his inspiring non-profit camp for the empowerment of young men.
