Dignity Day, India trip 2007 015
So after being dumped off at the wrong terminal by my driver at 5am one morning late last year, somewhere in Asia;

wondering around for close to an hour, pulling my bags, to get to the next terminal;

waiting for the terminal bus drivers to wake up from their nap;

finding the right airline after yet another hour;

checking in and being told there is a "do not check in" sign next to your name;

sorting that out and then having to pay an extra luggage fee;

finally making it through passport control, and security;

getting to the flight gate, and having a fairly rude gentleman snatch my airline ticket out of the hands of a nice young employee who was not moving fast enough for him;

and right then, when I had just about enough, and ready to say "whatever," this same not-so-nice man turns to me and presses my credit card into the palm of my hand, right before I boarded.

I was so exhausted and worn out, I did not notice that the counter representative for the airline never gave me back my credit card.

They could have kept my card, waited for me to leave and had an absolute ball. They did not. They waited for me to show up at the gate, where they knew I would, and simply returned it to me.  Amazing.

Think about this. Whatever goes around, comes around. If I had lost my cool, in that moment…..

In short, the gift of Love Leadership is ultimately not so much for others, as it is to and for you.
