Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index improved to an average of -21 thus far in January, up from -28 in December, and the most positive score since Gallup Daily tracking began in January 2008. More upper-income consumers (50%) say the economy is getting better than say it is getting worse (45%), for the first time in 16 months.
