DIVERSITY COUNCIL-JOHN HOPE BRYANT-19
(New York City) – February 10, 2010 —
John Hope Bryant, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of financial literacy and empowerment nonprofit Operation HOPE (HOPE) was the keynote speaker at a corporate function at BBDO World Headquarters in New York on February 4, 2010.

The event was attended by the advertising giant’s Diversity Council based in New York and focused on Bryant’s new corporate leadership bestseller LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World.  Sharing the five principles of Love Leadership was Bryant’s way of thanking BBDO for their pro bono support and encouragement. The 2009 New York ADDY Awards winning advertising firm has been working diligently to design the Celebrity Edition curriculum packaging for the “silver rights” organization during the launch of HOPE’s latest initiative, FIVE MILLION KIDS (5MK) in Los Angeles last fall.

Co-chaired by civil rights leader Ambassador Andrew Young and music icon Quincy Jones 5MK is HOPE’s foray on a problem that is draining America, and ultimately its resources — high school dropouts. The program focuses on stemming the dropout epidemic in America.

“Given our focus on idea creation together with our emphasis on diversity, BBDO is pleased to support Operation HOPE’s work in our communities, said BBDO President and CEO John Osborn, “ whether it’s here in Harlem, or in cities across this country, financial literacy and focusing on the next generation is something that we felt we needed to get behind.”

BBDO is the leader of industry when it comes to advertising.  With head headquarters in New York and 17,200 employees in 77 countries, BBDO was named the Agency of the Year in 2005 by ADWEEK, Advertising Age, and Campaign Magazine and the "Most Awarded Agency Network in the World" by The Gunn Report in 2007, for the second year running.
