The Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and the Drucker Institute recently featured several notable guest speakers at the Centennial celebrations focusing on the business philosophy of Peter Drucker — the man commonly referred to as the founder of modern management. Headlining the event were best-selling author and motivational guru Stephen R. Covey, Will Hopper, the British investment and sage and co-founder of the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO, John Hope Bryant.

Events at the university were focused on starting a dialogue concerning the “big” questions concerning the 21st century — ranging from Global Economy and leadership founded on virtues and values.

Harvard educated Professor Jean Lipman Bluman joined Bryant for a high energy discussion on business management. The topic of the forum, Love Leadership and Capitalism 3.0: Reframing What Leadership Means in the 21st Century, specifically focused on John Bryant’s bestselling book LOVE LEADERSHIP.

Intrigued by Bryant’s concept on loss creating leaders, Dr. Bluman asked the author what specific loss turned him into a leader. Bryant and Bluman shared childhood experiences with the audience and it soon became evident that the two not only had similar philosophies but that their mothers were inspirational to them and their mothers were cut from the same cloth.

If you haven’t had a chance LOVE LEADERSHIP: A NEW WAY TO LEAD IN A FEAR BASED WORLD is an insightful read and can be found on the Operation HOPE website.

A special thank you to Jason Yancey of Operation HOPE who staffed Mr. Bryant on this day.
