Bryant_LoveLeadership3DTwo-time Grammy Award Winner Jennifer Holliday becomes
a “Love Leader” after reading John Hope Bryant’s book

LOS ANGELES – January 25, 2010 – The 800-CEO-Read “Bestseller” LOVE LEADERSHIP: THE NEW WAY TO LEAD IN A FEAR-BASED WORLD (Jossey-Bass) continues its “Bestseller” status for the fifth consecutive month. Since its debut in August, the book has held its position on the top 25 bestsellers list.

“As a singer of great Love Songs for over 30 years now, I had once believed that my most passionate expression of love could only be delivered by me cushioned between the music and the lyrics of those songs while I was performing them on stage,” said Jennifer Holliday, two-time GRAMMY Award Winning International Recording Artist, and TONY Award Winner, actress and legendary Broadway star of the original production of DREAM GIRLS. “After reading John Hope Bryant's book, LOVE LEADERSHIP, I have come to realize a great truth which is that although I have always considered myself a very charitable and giving person, both on stage and off, generosity is not love, especially not the kind of love that it takes to be a Love Leader. John's book helped me to learn and to know deep within my heart that I am capable of far more than just 'singing greatly,' so th at others may enjoy a few hours of songs of inspiration, but I am highly capable and now desirous of 'loving greatly'…my purpose, my mission, my new song is, 'Love in Action' and as a Love Leader, my goal in this new decade with this new generation is to 'love people to life'. I now sing of both love and hope, to show the power of love and to 'make hope real' in people's lives, not only in the Atlanta community of which I live, but within the global movement of Love Leaders all around the world!”

Operation HOPE Founder and author John Hope Bryant is starting his second tour promoting the book in a series called “A Conversation on Leadership.” The tour has already taken him to Atlanta, New York, Dalian, China, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles, to dialogue with distinguished leaders such as: humanitarian and political icon Ambassador Andrew Young; best-selling author Bill George; civil rights legend Dr. Dorothy I. Height; Warren Bennis author of The Essential Bennis; William G. George, author of True North; Professor Jean Lipman Blumen of the Peter F. Drucker School; Dean Jim Ellis at the USC Marshall School of Business; as well as the legendary Rev. Dr. Cecil Murray.

LOVE LEADERSHIP bridges the gap between solid business advice and pure inspiration. The book has brought acclaim from critics, such as David Gergen, director of the Center of Public Leadership, Harvard Kennedy School; Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia and president of Wikia, Inc.; and legendary singer, Jennifer Holliday.

It has been referred to as a “love story” at Operation HOPE, the nonprofit he started in 1992. Bryant donates the proceeds for purchases made through the website to benefit the financial empowerment organization.

Bryant’s groundbreaking book makes the case that the best way to get ahead is to figure out what you have to give in a world seemingly obsessed with the question: What do I get? Aimed at a new generation of leaders and extremely relevant for today's economic climate, LOVE LEADERSHIP draws on his remarkable success story and on interviews with love-based leaders such as Former President Bill Clinton, H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway; entertainment icon Quincy Jones; Proventus AB CEO Daniel Sachs; and a Better Place Founder and CEO Shai Agassi.
