LOS ANGELES) – November 20, 2009 – Financial literacy nonprofit, Operation HOPE today announced that audio book leaders Audible.com and iTunes have both released bestseller LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World (Jossey-Bass), in digital audio format just in time for the holidays.

Audible ITunes

Author and HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO, John Hope Bryant, who voices the complete audio book himself, outlines his strategy for success in LOVE LEADERSHIP, making the case that, as unlikely as it sounds, the best way to get ahead is to figure out what you have to give to a world seemingly obsessed with only one question: “what do I get?”  LOVE LEADERSHIP is also the “love story of Operation HOPE,” says Bill Walbrecher, president and COO of Operation HOPE, chronicling its over seventeen-year rise from local start-up with a big vision – founded by Bryant following the Rodney King riots of 1992  – to a credible international organization and a global voice for financial literacy empowerment and silver rights today, having served more than one million individuals through HOPE’s empowerment programs and services.

LOVE LEADERSHIP recognizes that you want to do well in life, but it also suggests that the best way to do well and to achieve true wealth over the long-term is to do good today, and you’ll never be wrong doing right. But right now we look around and it is apparent that our great nation, and its leaders, have simply ‘lost our story line,’ led by fear, and are focusing on the ‘me' instead of the 'we',” advocates Bryant, who also serves as Vice Chair of the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. “It isn’t a matter of ‘love v. hate’ – that takes too much energy. It is a matter of indifference.”

Revealing interviews with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, civil rights icon and HOPE Global spokesman Ambassador Andrew Young; HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway; ING Americas chairman and CEO Tom McInerney; Bill George, bestselling author, former Fortune 500 CEO and professor of management practice at Harvard University; Zainab Salbi, president and CEO, Women for Women International; Daniel Sachs, CEO, Proventus AB of Sweden; Darys Estrella Mordan, CEO of the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange; Rick Hartnack, vice chairman of US Bank; civil rights icon Dr. Dorothy I. Height; Shai Agassi, founder and CEO, Better Place; one of the last book interviews with the late Secretary Jack Kemp; and music impresario Quincy Jones, amongst others, illustrate the power of the love leadership philosophy.

LOVE LEADERSHIP outlines the crisis in America and around the world today as a crisis of virtues and values. “We must choose to prosper as a society, not just as individuals.” In his book, Bryant explores why leaders who lead through the good of the whole, thrive. He describes the current environment as wracked by fear, and fear as “the ultimate prosperity killer.”

Since its release in August, the book has maintained its “Bestseller” status on CEO Read and is consistently listed among the Top Business Reads at Walmart.com and others.

Designated proceeds from book sales go towards the organization’s “silver rights” mission to empower the underserved.
