Nonprofit`s Emergency Preparedness Division Rolls Out Plan to Offer

Free Financial Services to Victims

 

ATLANTA – (October 12, 2009) – Continuing commitments made in partnership with FEMA, The American Red Cross, and as a national member of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), Operation HOPE (HOPE), through its disaster preparedness and recovery division HOPE Coalition America (HCA), is currently assisting individuals affected by the flooding in Georgia communities by providing the following free seminars: Disaster Recovery Budgeting, Paying a Mortgage on a Destroyed Home, Home Inspections, and Repair Contracts, Assistance with Working with Your Creditors, Referrals to Government and Private Agencies, Assistance with Obtaining Copies of Destroyed Financial Documents, and Insurance Claims Assistance, Recovery Seminars and Case Management. 

 

“This guidance and assistance can be obtained by calling the HOPE National Assistance Hotline at 888-388-HOPE (4673). Individuals will be assisted by our employees and volunteers from our partners in the financial services industry," said Lance Triggs, Executive Vice President of Operation HOPE. "Anyone who needs help reconstructing their financial records as a result of the recent flood is encouraged to call for assistance.” 

 

 

Created after 9/11, the disaster preparedness and recovery division of HOPE has assisted over 150,000 individuals and small businesses recover from various federally declared disasters, including Hurricanes Katrina, Ike, and Gustav as well as the 2008 California wild fires.
