Working with people in need to eliminate poverty housing.

A simple vision that launched a global movement empowering families worldwide.  Millard Fuller, the co-founder and former President of Habitat for Humanity International, transformed the concept of a hand up, not a hand out into reality and millions of people, both homeowners and volunteers alike, have benefitted from his tireless commitment.  Nail after nail, roof after roof, home after home, volunteer after volunteer working hour after hour alongside future homeowners.  Millard energized people of all  walks of life to work together towards a common cause and over 300,000 families worldwide have moved out of atrocious housing conditions to a place they safely and affordably call home.

Operation HOPE, Inc. salutes Millard Fuller for his remarkable contribution to humanity.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and, as his wife Linda shared, his memory should and will continue by everyone picking up a hammer and empowering a family in need.

Operation HOPE's own Mary Hagerty worked with ith Fuller at Habitat, building his Los Angeles office, prior to coming to HOPE.
