My life is all about empowerment, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to act on my life's purpose, from my domestic community empowerment to my global community empowerment work, to my work around public policy, and now my work around thought leadership.  Through this Blog you can now access all of those global pathways in my world. I invite you to read, link, share, comment, debate, empower and serve. This is the global silver rights movement in action. One world. One. With HOPE.

Domestic Community Empowerment Work

My domestic community empowerment work is rooted in the organization I founded, Operation HOPE. The major portfolios of Operation HOPE include Banking on Our Future, our award winning financial literacy program for youth 4th grade through 12th grade, and now Banking on Our Future, College Edition, now our lead initiative to serve and to provide financial literacy education to all 105 HBCUs over the next 5-years.  There is also Banking on Our Future Online, and soon, Banking on Our Future, Hip Hop Edition.

HOPE Banking Center Network is our national economic empowerment system, focused on converting check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into home owners, small business dreamers into small business owners and entrepreneurs, minimum wage workers into living wage workers, and moving individuals from the poverty rolls into the payrolls.  Within our HOPE Centers is our national HOPE Inner City Cyber Cafe Network, where individuals from the community can sit, sip and surf the Internet in a comfortable environment, and those looking for opportunity can pursue a range of digital empowerment programs offered year-round through the Cyber Cafes.

HOPE Coalition America is what CNN called America's "economic Red Cross," providing emergency economic disaster preparedness, response and recovery services for individuals dealing with natural disasters and made made disasters alike.  Our Mortgage HOPE Crisis Hotline, administered through HCA, was created to respond to a man made disaster called the global economic crisis.  The Mortgage HOPE Crisis Hotline serves those negatively impacted by the mortgage subprime crisis and has been successfully in achieving real results for real people.

HOPE Advisors is our consulting and advisory group that works with organizations, companies and governments that want to learn how better to "do well and to do good at the same time."

HOPE Corps is our network of trained and mobilizes volunteers, and in many ways is the lifeblood of the HOPE organization. HOPE Corps volunteers feed into and support each of the major HOPE portfolios.

Operation HOPE has served more than one million individuals since its founding in 1992.

Global Community Empowerment Work

My global empowerment work is rooted in HOPE Global Initiatives (HGI), which supports our first on-the-ground program office, Operation HOPE, South Africa, where we are partnering with some of the leading banks, corporations and non-governmental organizations in South Africa today, including the South African government, to teach financial literacy to 50,000 women and youth by 2012.

HGI also supports and sponsors Global Dignity, which teaches the principles of dignity to young people around the world, and which on October 20th, 2008, hosted its first ever GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY, featuring Dignity Day sessions on the ground, at one time and on one day, in more than 20 countries, on every continent, and even featuring a message from an astronaut in space!

HGI extends my and HOPE's reach, facilitating my work with the World Economic Forum and the Forum of Young Global Leaders.

Public Policy Work

My public policy work is rooted domestically through the bi-partisan U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, which was inspired in part by the on-the-ground work by Operation HOPE.  The Council is commissioned until 2010, where I will have the opportunity to serve two sitting U.S. presidents, from President George W. Bush to President Barack Obama.  I serve as vice chairman of the Council, and chairman of the Council Committee on the Under-Served.  My public policy work outside of the U.S. is rooted in my new work with the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council, where I serve as an advisor for financial literacy.

Thought Leadership Work

My work around thought leadership is the newest addition to my personal agenda, but in many ways I have been acting on aspects of thought leadership most of my adult life.  It starts with my regular schedule of speeches, lectures and talks here and around the world.  Through Bryant Speaks, a division of Bryant Group Companies, Inc., I speak for a fee to commercial clients, so in turn I am able to speak for free to and for those served by Operation HOPE. Recently I have been increasingly called on by CEOs, leaders, and even heads of state to provide strategic leadership counsel.  Currently I am traveling the world promoting my new book, LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World, published by leadership authority Jossey-Bass, part of Wiley Publishing.

In total this work encompasses basis and foundation for a growing global silver rights movement.

Welcome to my world.  My life has taught me that one person can change the world.  Be that one person.

Onward with HOPE,

John Hope Bryant
